The Manager will be responsible for the accounting of the products line of business of the company, including revenue, inventory costs and margin analysis. This role partners with Product and Procurement teams daily and on the month end close. This position also interacts monthly with the Financial Planning & Analysis team as it relates to analysis of gross margin and forecast assumptions

What We Need & What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Own the month end close process for: Inventory; Expense Accruals; Cost Allocations; Marketing Development funds to ensure accurate and timely month end close.
  • Prepare and review detailed account reconciliations, obtain corresponding support to verify accuracy of the financial numbers and resolve any reconciling items timely
  • Review interfaced transactions from inventory subsystem to the general ledger, preparing and maintaining management reports and explaining monthly variances in inventory balances, including PO discrepancies, price variances and other matching issues. 
  • Develop financial reports to support monthly financial reporting and supplemental reporting for business partners. 
  • Coordinate across functional departments within the company to aide in analysis, research, adherence to GAAP accounting standards and compliance with internal controls 
  • Analyze balance sheet and income statement account fluctuations monthly and provide explanations for any significant or unusual changes in balances (month, quarter, and prior year variances) 
  • Ensure controls have been identified, evidenced, and documented for processes. Monitor and review processes and reports to ensure accuracy of the financial statements and compliance with controls. 
  • Manage and approve the credit and rebill process.
  • Project profit margins for upcoming quarters and analyze trends of highs and lows.
  • Provide financial support for cost reduction and system projects.
  • Streamline accounting reports and improve processes

Who You Are (Qualifications)

  • 4+ years of work experience as a cost accountant, analyst, or other relevant rol
  • Demonstrated understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and In-Depth knowledge of accounting principles and best practices, e.g., Inventory.
  • Computer literacy skills, especially with MS Excel, MicroStrategy, Power BI and basic data entry and computation. Familiarity with Oracle Cloud.
  • Expertise in activity-based costing for fixed and variable costs in relation tothe overall direct cost of a line of products.
  • Ability to get things done, manage timelines, actively prioritize and ability to work under strict deadlines.
  • Analytical skills with a keen sense of organization and detail.
  • Post-Secondary education or accounting certification.
  • CPA Preferred
  • Expertise in transaction-based costing for fixed and variable costs in relation to the overall direct cost of a line of products.
